National Bank introduces a temporary limit on the volume of card-to-card transfers

The National Bank of Ukraine will introduce restrictions on card-to-card transfers for individuals for six months from October 1.

The regulator’s press service reported this.

The limit is set at 150 thousand hryvnia per month. This limit will only apply to initial transfers across all client accounts opened in one bank to accounts of other individuals.

However, the limit does not apply to the accounts of volunteers who meet the criteria defined by the resolution, as well as to individuals whose monthly income from confirmed sources exceeds the amount of the established limit.

The limit does not apply to transfers of funds between the client’s own accounts opened in the same bank, as well as to transfers of legal entities. Transactions using IBAN details have no restrictions.

The NBU noted that 98% of bank clients make monthly transfers that do not exceed 150 thousand hryvnia, so the restrictions will not affect their financial activity.
