Shmyhal: Energy infrastructure damaged in six regions

As a result of a massive Russian attack on March 29, energy infrastructure was damaged in six regions, and emergency shutdowns were applied in some regions.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

“There is damage to the energy infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Cherkasy, and Chernivtsi regions. Emergency shutdowns have been applied in some regions,” the prime minister noted.

He also added that Ukraine needs more air defence systems to secure critical infrastructure and protect the population.

In general, thermal generation facilities were fired upon in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy also struck an energy facility in the Ivano-Frankivsk region - there was damage to equipment.

As a result of attacks on generation facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions, equipment was damaged.

“The substations were de-energized and, as a result, consumers (the railway without disruptions in train traffic, public utilities, local industry, the population),” the Ministry of Energy added.
