Ukraine has received a new 4.2 billion euros from the European Union. The funds will be transferred in the form of grants and loans under the Ukraine Facility program. The government will direct these funds to social programs, the humanitarian sphere and other important budget programs.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on August 13. He noted that not a single part of this money will be spent on war.

“We continue to finance military expenditures exclusively from our own resources,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

He added that since the beginning of the year, the EU has already provided Ukraine with more than 12 billion euros in budget support. In turn, Ukraine continues to implement reforms that are important for sustainability, development and the future, Shmyhal emphasized.

"European partners support these efforts. We expect to receive another tranche of aid by the end of the year," the head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted, thanking the EU for its solidarity with Ukraine.
