The occupation forces of the Russian Federation carry out frequent attacks in the north of the Kharkiv region, but using limited manpower. Instead, they use FPV drones with thermal imaging cameras to storm Ukrainian positions at night.
At the same time, the enemy is making a lot of attacks. This is stated in the report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for June 6.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as of 19:00 on Thursday, Russian troops conducted offensive operations near Liptsy on June 5, but did not conduct them there on June 6.
For his part, a Ukrainian soldier operating in the Kharkiv direction noted that the occupiers are using first-person view (FPV) drones equipped with thermal imaging cameras to support night attacks. They also carry out a large number of artillery attacks and airstrikes with guided bombs.
The defender also added that Russian forces are using untrained personnel for attacks in the Kharkiv direction. It was previously reported that the aggressor used unidentified units of the Chechen special forces "Akhmat" there.
At the same time, ISW notes that Russian troops have recently advanced within Starytsia (southwest of Volchansk). Russian propagandists had claimed the day before that the occupiers had advanced 400 meters in an unspecified area in this direction. In addition, they announced the continuation of fighting on June 6 in the area of the Aggregate Plant in the center of Vovchansk, as well as near Starytsia and Buhrovatka to the southwest of the city.
But according to the report of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as of 19:00 on Thursday, Russian troops carried out offensive operations near Vovchansk on June 5, but did not carry them out on June 6.
