Ukraine will receive a batch of Leopard tanks from Denmark and the Netherlands by the end of summer

The Netherlands announced the delivery of a batch of Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine, which they acquired together with Denmark. A batch of 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks will go to Ukraine this summer.

This was reported by the press service of the Dutch Ministry of Defence. Last year, the Netherlands, together with Denmark, purchased 14 used Leopard 2A4 tanks, which were overhauled by the German company Rheinmetall.

So far, the last two tanks are undergoing control tests, while the first 12 are already ready for shipment. All 14 tanks will be delivered simultaneously by the end of summer.

“Ukraine urgently needs more military support, given the heavy fighting on the contact line. These tanks can play an important role for the Ukrainian army in defense against Russian forces. Together with allies and partners, the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary,” he said Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
