In six regions of Ukraine, the SSU neutralized FSB agents who were preparing attacks on Ukraine

In particular, city council officials, a student, a manager and a former police officer spied for Russia.

Counterintelligence of the Security Service neutralized a large-scale intelligence network of the FSB, which was preparing Russian missile, bomb and drone attacks on six regions of Ukraine.

The press service of the SSU reported this.

As a result of a multi-stage special operation, 9 Russian agents were simultaneously detained in Dnipro, Zaporizhzhya and Sumy, as well as in Donetsk, Odesa and Kirovohrad regions.

For the sake of secrecy, the suspects acted separately, but were "locked in" to one FSB officer. The SSU has already identified him.

On the instructions of the Russian special service officer, the agents collected coordinates for the fire attack on the Defence Forces and critical infrastructure facilities.

The enemy group included two officials. One of them was an official of the Dnipro City Council, the other was the head of a department in the Yuzhne City Council in Odesa region. They were establishing the locations of air defences and key power substations to adjust Russian shelling in both regions.

Two other agents were reconnoitering the locations of Ukrainian army fortifications and heavy artillery firing positions near Pokrovsk and Chasiv Yar.

Their accomplice collected information on the concentration of personnel and military equipment of the defenders of Kurakhove in Donetsk region.

Also among the Russian agents were two managers and a university student who recorded the movement of Ukrainian Armed Forces echelons in the direction of the eastern front.

Another traitor turned out to be a former employee of the disbanded police, who reported to the occupiers about the consequences of the Russian attack on one of the hydroelectric power stations in Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the defendants came to the attention of the FSB as active commentators on chats on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels. After remote recruitment, the traitors communicated with their Russian curator through anonymous chat bots in a popular messenger. During the searches, mobile phones with evidence of intelligence and subversive activities in favor of Russia were confiscated from the detainees.

Security Service investigators informed them of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state betrayal committed under martial law).

The perpetrators are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The special operation was carried out under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
