NAPC to check family of MPs Zheleznyak and Koval

The NAPC will check the family status of the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Tax Committee Yaroslav Zheleznyak in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Prevention of Corruption”.

Earlier, a number of media outlets reported that the family of MP Yaroslav Zhelyaznyak acquired an apartment worth UAH 11 million in 2023. It is registered to Zhelyaznyak’s wife’s father, Koval Volodymyr. But, as stated, Zhelyaznyak himself, his son Ivan, and his wife live in it. This information is contained in the MP’s income declaration. And this is not the only apartment where the couple lives in Kyiv.

Zheleznyak’s wife Olha Koval rents another one (total area 99.2 sq. m). Together they also rent two parking spaces.

In addition, during the war, the Zheleznyak spouses bought two cars. The MP became the owner of an INFINITI QX50 for 1.173 million UAH, and his wife - a LEXUS NX 300H, the cost of which is not specified.

Yaroslav Zheleznyak also became the owner of cryptocurrency in 2023. For example, Solana (SOL) on his account is declared in the amount of 12.86219743, and Ethereum (ETH) - 0.39951185.

At the same time, the official wealth of the family of the MP and the head of the "Voice" faction does not reach millions. Zheleznyak’s wife, like him, receives a salary in the Verkhovna Rada. The politician’s annual earnings amounted to 660,733 UAH, his wife’s - 544,675 UAH. Olha Koval additionally received 167,570 UAH in maternity benefits.

The declaration of the people’s deputy from the Servant of the People faction Olha Koval for 2022 and 2023 contains information about her new luxury car of the LEXUS brand. The car purchased in 2022 is registered to her father’s company.

Thus, Koval acquired a 2019 LEXUS NX 300H on February 23, 2022. The declaration lists the car’s owner as KHERSONSKIY KHP, owned by the deputy’s father, Vladimir Ivanovich Koval, and the offshore company WJVENTURES YEDVENTURES. Koval noted that she allegedly rents this car, but did not specify the amount.

Meanwhile, according to OpenData, PJSC "KHERSONSKIY KHP" has wage arrears to its employees in the amount of more than 56 thousand UAH. In addition, as evidenced by the ruling of the Kherson City Court, at the time of the occupation of Kherson by the Russian military, a significant amount of grain was stored in the warehouses of PJSC "Khersonskyy Kombinat Khliboproduktiv". But most of the barley belonged to a Seychelles offshore company.

"Grain of 3rd class barley of 2021 in the amount of 2,859.270 tons, including 2,066.080 tons of barley belonging to WESTAGRO TRADE COMMODITIES LTD (Seychelles) and 793.190 tons of barley belonging to Piryatinsky Delikates LLC," the court decision says.

Also, Kherson Bread Products Plant PJSC has not published its financial statements since 2021.
