Deputy Head of the State Tax Service Yevhen Sokur may have submitted false information in his declaration

Yevhen Sokur, acting deputy head of the State Tax Service, allegedly submitted false information in his 2023 declaration. He did not indicate his cohabitant, with whom he has been living since 2016, which could lead to liability.

The official probably entered false data in his declaration for 2023. In particular, he did not indicate his common-law wife in the document. Failure to declare data in Ukraine entails administrative and criminal liability.

During the investigation into the alleged assassination attempt on him, Yevhen Sokur himself told law enforcement that since 2016 he has been living with a girl named Alina in an apartment on Lobanovskyi Avenue, 6-d. This is probably about an apartment of more than 100 square meters, which he purchased in 2016 for more than 1.5 million hryvnia or more than 600 thousand dollars at the exchange rate at that time. However, Sokur never mentioned his girlfriend in his declarations.

In particular, the website of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption contains only three declarations of the official - for 2021-2023. In them, he indicates that he owns one of the apartments in half with his mother, Alla Sokur, who works as a deputy director of the department - head of the department of privatization, corporate rights, formation and distribution of municipal property of the Kyiv City State Administration. And he owns the other two - with an area of 103.9 square meters and 62.9 square meters - independently. Not a single column of the declaration mentions the tax officer’s cohabitant. At the same time, Ukrainian legislation obliges officials to indicate in their declarations the persons with whom they live together.
