Occupants launched 72 air targets at Ukraine at night
On the night of August 20-21, Russian occupiers carried out a massive air strike on Ukraine, using various types of weapons.
The Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, reported this on Telegram.
Two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were launched from the territory of the Voronezh Region of the Russian Federation, and a X-59/X-69 guided air missile was launched from the airspace of the Kursk Region. Additionally, 69 Shahed strike missiles were sent from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk and Kursk regions.
In total, the Ukrainian Air Force identified and tracked 72 air targets. The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 51 air targets were shot down: one X-59/X-69 guided air missile and 50 Shahed strike missiles in various regions. In particular, in the Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
In addition, 16 enemy drones were destroyed under the influence of electronic countermeasures.
The military also recorded an enemy drone crossing the state border with the Republic of Belarus in the Chernihiv region. One of the Russian drones returned to the Belgorod region.
As of 11:15, one enemy drone is still in the airspace over Cherkasy region, and hostilities continue.
