MP Oleksiy Leonov illegally excluded his wife from his declaration after divorce

MP Oleksiy Leonov listed his two sons Lev and Danylo as family members in his 2023 declaration, while he did not list his wife Nataliya Lyubymova, although they officially divorced in court only at the end of March of that year.

This information became known from the politician’s tax returns.

The declaration included: his son Lev’s apartment in Lymanka with an area of 62.4 sq. m, as well as a house with an area of 150 sq. m and an apartment in Odesa with an area of 60 sq. m, which Leonov rented.

In addition, the declaration mentions an apartment in Turkey, which the MP’s family used in 2022, and a hotel room in Kyiv, which he has been renting since 2019.

Oleksiy Leonov was left without a car; even the BMW (2018), which the politician rented in 2022, is missing from the declaration for 2023.

However, his wife Nataliya Lyubymova appears in the declaration as a source of income from the alienation of real estate in the amount of 3.93 million hryvnia.

The MP also earned 648 thousand hryvnia in the Verkhovna Rada in 2023.

Of his savings, only cash in the amount of 4.38 million hryvnia remained.

Oleksiy Leonov also retained the rights to the trademarks: Chef’s Hand and "Syla-Yeda".

It should be noted that according to the NAPC, divorce does not exempt the former spouse from declaring property. The former spouse ceases to be a member of the family of the subject of the declaration and is not indicated in the declaration if after the divorce in the reporting period they did not live together, were not connected by a common life and did not have mutual rights and obligations.
