Ukrainian Armed Forces showed horrific footage of destroyed Vovchansk
The Russian Federation troops have almost completely destroyed the city of Vovchansk in the north of Kharkiv region. Before the war, more than 17 thousand Ukrainians lived there, now only a few of the locals remain.
The press service of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi shared photographs of the ruins left from Vovchansk on Facebook. It should be noted that the border with the Russian Federation is approximately five kilometers away. The line of combat conflict runs through the territory of the settlement.
"The city is almost completely destroyed, entire streets are burning from artillery strikes and FPV drones, the city is covered in smoke. The air is filled with the hum of drones around the clock, dozens of quadcopters are in the sky at the same time. Above them are reconnaissance "wings". An advantage in the sky almost 100% means an advantage on the ground," the servicemen defending this section of the front described the situation.
"’Help’ from Russia," journalist and blogger Denys Kazanskyi commented on the footage of the destroyed Vovchansk.
The commander of the 2nd mechanized battalion of the separate brigade, nicknamed "Samurai", believes that currently in the Vovchansk direction there are some of the most combat-ready Ukrainian units with combat experience.
"57th Motorized Rifle Brigade, 71st Jaeger Brigade (which has been fighting for a long time, we also dealt with them in the Avdiivka direction), other units. Everyone understands that we cannot allow the enemy to advance deeper in the Kharkiv direction, no one wants to fight for Kharkiv again, we already went through this in 2022."
According to him, the enemy used to have more UAVs here than the Defence Forces. Now it is at least parity.
According to intercepts, Putin’s army complains a lot about our reconnaissance and attack drones. "The occupiers are constantly under our surveillance, we detect them, and we inflict fire damage. This is, in principle, a routine job," the soldier said.
