Attack on the center of Kostyantynivka: investigation launched

Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated into criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on September 7, 2024, from 09:15 to 10:00, Russian troops struck, probably with barrel artillery, the city of Kostyantynivka. The hits occurred in the center with dense residential development.

As a result of the shelling, three men - 24, 46 and 69 years old - who were near the local market, received injuries incompatible with life.

Three more civilians - a 50-year-old woman and two men aged 29 and 59 - were injured to varying degrees of severity. They were diagnosed with shrapnel wounds to their arms and legs. The victims are receiving qualified medical care.

13 objects were damaged, including an apartment building, a medical facility, a pharmacy, a retail space, vehicles, and power lines.

Prosecutors take all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the Russian Armed Forces.
