The occupiers attacked Ukraine with missiles and "shaheds": 8 air targets shot down by air defence forces
On the evening of September 8, Russian occupiers launched a new attack on Ukraine: they launched 8 Shahed kamikaze drones and 3 missiles. During the night, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 8 enemy air targets: two X-59/69 guided air missiles and 6 Shahed-type attack UAVs.
This was reported in the Telegram of the Ukrainian Air Force. It is noted that as a result of active counteraction, one of the X-59/69 missiles did not reach its target.
Air defence was in effect in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The occupiers attacked Kyiv with "shaheds" in particular. All attack drones were neutralized by air defence forces and means as they approached the capital.
"Preliminary, there is no damage or casualties in the city," clarified the head of the KCMA, Serhiy Popko.
The head of the Cherkasy RMA Ihor Taburets reported that the alarm in their region lasted 3.5 hours. One UAV was destroyed over the region.
"Dry vegetation caught fire due to falling debris. The fire was quickly extinguished," Taburets said.
