Occupiers in captured Mariupol plan to expand railway to Rostov

The Russians have created a railway line connecting Rostov-on-Don with the occupied cities of the Donetsk region. Unfortunately, they are planning to expand this line.

The enemy’s intentions were reported by the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko.

"There is some pretty bad news, another one. They are trying to shorten the railway. They are trying to build a new line through Boykivske (formerly Telmanove, Donetsk region). It will allow to shorten the distance even more," noted Petro Andryushchenko.

The route of the railway, the construction of which was completed relatively recently, runs from Rostov-on-Don, almost to Donetsk through Volnovakha and to Mariupol.

"If they build a new line, it will shorten the route, and there will be no need to go up to the Ilovaisk junction and to Donetsk. This means that the railway will become even faster and shorter. While they are still at the design stage, the first preparatory work has begun. But since last year we have seen how quickly they can build," Andryushchenko added.

At present, a lot of cargo is delivered to Volnovakha at night. In the dark, it is impossible to see exactly what the occupiers are transporting, but local residents hear that something is being brought.

There was also officially unconfirmed information that recently wagons with North Korean shells arrived at the Mariupol port. After that, shots were heard at one of the training grounds in the vicinity. Probably, the same shells were being tested.

"The port is ’dead’ - absolutely. No shipping, nothing is happening. As for the shells - this is our big hypothesis, and it is very difficult to confirm. However, the training ground near Mariupol is working. Shots are constantly heard from there, people confuse them with explosions or air defense work," Andryushchenko noted.
