"Battles for Pokrovsk": It is quite possible that we will have to retreat from some positions

Over the past week, the Russians have made no progress in the direction of Pokrovsk. However, this does not mean that the Russian offensive has been halted. Just south of the city, in the Kurakhove direction, the situation is extremely difficult.

Military expert Serhiy Hrabskyi shared information about the situation in Donbas.

According to the expert, the Russians broke through to the settlements of Memryk and Ukrainsk, reaching the village of Hirnyk, which effectively cut off the communications of our positions held on the left bank of the Vovcha River near the villages of Halytsynivka, Zhelanne Pershe, Zhelanne Druhe and Zirkove.

At the same time, the occupants also advanced in the Krasnohorivka-Kurakhivka area, creating a semi-circumvention for Ukrainian forces. It is likely that the Defence Forces will be forced to retreat to the Ukrainsk - Hirnyk - Kurakhivka positions to avoid being surrounded. The enemy is acting deliberately, seeking to extend the Pokrovsk operation and align the flanks.

"If we have to retreat, the enemy will try to advance in the Pokrovsk area. It will take some time. I don’t think we will lose it, on the contrary, we will make every effort to strengthen our forces in this area. That is, the battle for Pokrovsk is not over yet. At the moment, there are no signs that this will happen in the near future," said Serhiy Hrabskyi.
