Zelenskyy hinted that Ukraine has more Patriot systems than officially reported
There is a possibility that Ukraine has more Patriot missile systems than previously published. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hinted at this during his speech at the annual international forum Yalta European Strategy.
“You mentioned that we have four ’Patriots.’ I can’t specify that number. But I can say this: it’s not enough, but thank God, the reality turns out to be more encouraging than the official data,” said the president, barely holding back a smile.
He also expressed gratitude to “our teams and our partners.”
The president also noted that not only the volume of air defense assets is important, but also the ability to use them effectively. Nevertheless, there is a constant shortage of missiles for these systems, the head of state said.
“An example of our air defense: ideally, two missiles should be used for one target, but they can only afford one. Because they simply do not have enough of these missiles,” said Zelenskyy.
