In Odessa, a maritime college employee was detained: he helped to obtain a deferral for a bribe

On September 16, this was announced by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region.

The police indicated that the suspect ensured the reinstatement of a man, who previously studied in the "Sailor" specialty, into a full-time form of study at the college. For a bribe of 500 dollars, he promised a conscript applicant to influence the decision of the head of the department to which he planned to apply, as well as the personnel department staff.

After everything necessary for the potential student’s enrollment was completed, the police detained the offender, who had already received his reward, and confiscated the money from him.

The suspect has been charged under part two of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing. A decision is being made regarding the measure of restraint for the college employee. It is also being determined whether the suspect was involved in other similar offenses and whether he had accomplices.

The official faces up to eight years in prison and confiscation of property.
