SBI has completed the investigation on Dubinskyi and Derkach’s treason

The State Bureau of Investigation has completed its investigation into the Member of Parliament of Ukraine Oleksandr Dubinskyi and four other persons suspected of high treason.

This was reported by the SBI and the Office of the Prosecutor General.

"Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General, the pre-trial investigation has been completed in relation to five members of a criminal organization – an incumbent and a former Member of Parliament of Ukraine, a former prosecutor, and two heads of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation."

Currently, the defense is granted access to review the case materials, after which the case will be transferred to court."

The SBI, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, uncovered this criminal organization in November 2023.

According to the case details, it involves Oleksandr Dubinskyi (callsign "Pinocchio"), Andriy Derkach, his former assistant Ihor Kolesnikov (callsign "Veteran", already convicted and serving a sentence for high treason according to SSU materials), and Kostyantyn Kulyk (callsign "Bird").

The investigation established that in 2016, the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation created a criminal organization that included two Members of Parliament of Ukraine, a former employee of the Prosecutor General’s Office, and other individuals. The organization was engaged in destabilizing the socio-political situation in Ukraine and discrediting the Ukrainian state on the international stage, operating as an intelligence network until 2022.

For such activities, the members of the criminal organization received funding from the General Staff of the Russian Federation.

Dubinsky conducted information and subversive activities in favor of the aggressor. He spread Russian narratives, particularly regarding the top political leadership of Ukraine. To disseminate these narratives, he participated in public events.

In November 2019, the MPs organized a joint press conference, at which they spread information about alleged international corruption of US officials, attempting to deteriorate relations between Ukraine and its strategic partner.

Also in June 2020, the former prosecutor held a joint press conference with the ex-MP (Derkach – ed.), where they publicly "substantiated" fakes in favor of the Kremlin, particularly about the alleged interference of senior Ukrainian officials in the US presidential elections.

On the eve of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Derkach and Kulyk fled abroad and are hiding from justice.

The incumbent Member of Parliament – Dubinskyi – is in custody.
