In Kyiv, a lawyer is suspected of appropriating an apartment

The suspect with a fake passport in the name of another person came to the notary and concluded an agreement with the so-called owners of the apartment.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reports the exposure of a lawyer who fraudulently became the owner of an apartment in the Solomianskyi district by "issuing a loan" to long-dead owners. This is not the first fraud case in which this lawyer is accused.

The acting head of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office announced suspicion to a 48-year-old lawyer from Kyiv for the misappropriation of an apartment in the Solomianskyi district of the capital by deception and the use of forged documents, the apartment being part of the inheritance of the deceased (Part 4 of Article 190, Part 5 of Article 27 Part 190). 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The owners of the apartment on Klynycheska Street in Kyiv were a mother and son who had no heirs. In 2016, the man died, and a year later his mother died. After their death, the apartment was supposed to pass into municipal ownership as the inheritance of the deceased.

However, as the investigation established, in 2020, the suspect, acting in collusion with accomplices, with a fake passport in the name of another person, came to the notary, where he concluded an agreement with the so-called owners of the apartment, "lending" them 828 thousand hryvnias for two weeks, which at that time was 30 thousand dollars.

The "borrowers" could not return the debt, so the apartment became his property.

The prosecutor’s office notes that the same lawyer is also accused in a case of fraud with an apartment on Bankova Street, and he is also being tried for desecrating the body of a deceased owner of an apartment on Olena Teliha Street.
