Detention of Usyk in Poland: Consul General has left for the airport

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine intervened in the issue of Usyk’s detention at Krakow airport.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative Georgiy Tikhiy noted that "the Ukrainian side categorically does not accept the attitude shown to its citizen and champion as seen in the video."

"At the instruction of Minister Andriy Sybiha, the Consul General of Ukraine in Krakow has already urgently headed to the airport to clarify the circumstances of the incident," added the ministry representative.

It is also emphasized that Minister Sybiha has already reached out to his Polish counterpart with a request to "immediately resolve this issue."

"The minister also instructed the Consul General to express protest and dissatisfaction with such treatment," Tikhiy reported.
