The occupiers attacked Ukraine with "Shaheds": air defence forces shot down 46 drones

On the night of September 18 to 19, air defense forces destroyed 46 Shahed-type attack drones in Ukrainian skies. In total, Russian forces used 52 UAVs and three guided aviation missiles X-59/69 during the attack.

Five UAVs were destroyed, and another enemy attack drone was launched into Russia. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that the missiles were launched from the airspace of occupied Kherson region, and the drones from the areas of Kursk and Yeysk in Russia.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that aviation, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy’s air attack.

"As a result of the counteraction, the guided aviation missiles did not reach their intended targets. There is damage to agricultural equipment; preliminarily, there were no casualties or injuries," the statement said.

The air defence forces operated in eight regions: Mykolaiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Sumy, and Poltava.

Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Ihor Taburets reported that, preliminarily, air defence and electronic warfare forces destroyed 16 enemy UAVs within the area.

"No casualties. In one case, forest litter ignited due to the falling debris. The fire has already been extinguished," the official noted.

Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ruslan Kravchenko reported that there were also shot-down targets in the region as a result of the work of air defense forces on the night and morning of September 18.

"There were no hits on critical or residential infrastructure. No casualties. The fall of debris from shot-down targets was recorded outside populated areas on open fields. In one of the districts, a grass fire was extinguished," Kravchenko informed.
