In the capital Pechersk, the conflict over church land continues: people from the circle of ex-deputy Dubovoy, who are demolishing church buildings, are laying claim to the site.

Is the team of former People’s Deputy Dubovoy illegally “managing” lands in the prestigious Pechersky district? A group of people associated with a former member of Batkivshchyna is dismantling church buildings on the street. Michurin and interferes with the conduct of church services. Clashes in this territory have been going on for several years now, when a religious organization was “re-assigned” to a person from the orbit of an odious ex-parliamentarian.

According to what “scheme” are valuable lands taken away from parishioners in the center of Kyiv?

Back in 2006, construction began on a plot of land in the Pechersk district to build a Baptist church of Peace, Love and Unity. According to media reports, one of the "investors" was the scandalous former MP Oleksandr Dubovoy. A smaller church complex is located next to the facility. The pastor here and the author of the church project is Volodymyr Kunets.

However, in 2020, Petro Ilyin was de jure appointed to replace Kunets, who had not previously been directly involved in the organisation’s activities. At the same time, representatives of the parish, who support Volodymyr Yakovlevych and do not accept such changes, claim that Ilyin did not hold any services, on the contrary, he hindered the believers in every possible way.

It is interesting that Ilyin’s interests in the trial are represented by lawyer Ivan Dzhus, a man with the same name who, by a strange coincidence, received one of the land plots nearby. A year later, a company was registered at this address, with Dubovoy’s wife, his daughter and the lawyer himself among the beneficiaries.

As it became known to the editorial board, Dubovoy’s own luxurious estate is located in the same area. Moreover, the former MP’s family has been buying up land in large numbers and, as of today, a significant number of the nearby plots belong to them. Representatives of the public even protested, because, according to them, the methods and tools used to acquire the property were completely illegal.
