Former MP Vadym Nesterenko received a suspicion: illegally received 760 thousand in housing compensation
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) informed former MP of the "Petro Poroshenko Bloc" faction, Vadym Nesterenko, of suspicion in illegally receiving 760,000 UAH in compensation for renting housing in Kyiv.
This was reported by SAPO spokeswoman Olha Postolyuk to the publication "Slovo i Dilo", commenting on the announcement of the former deputy being wanted.
On the page "Persons hiding from the authorities" on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is noted that Nesterenko is wanted by NABU. The date of the deputy’s disappearance is specified as October 28, 2024, and he is accused under part 2 of article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of office).
SAPO explained that the former MP is suspected in the case of compensation for housing rent.
"On October 17, 2024, the former member of the Verkhovna Rada (8th convocation) was informed of the suspicion under part 2 of article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation established that during the years 2014 - 2018, the MP, despite having housing, received compensation for staying in a hotel and renting housing amounting to 760,000 UAH. After the start of the pre-trial investigation, the person fully reimbursed the damages. It should be noted that since the person’s whereabouts are not established, the suspicion was reported in accordance with article 135 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. On October 28, he was declared wanted," Postolyuk explained.
