In the TRC, they explained who is sent to the front without training
After receiving a summons, conscripted individuals face a choice. The TRC explained how to choose a place of service and what selection stages need to be passed in this case.
General mobilization continues in Ukraine, and conscripted individuals receive summonses to serve in different units of the Defense Forces. The spokesperson for the Dnipropetrovsk regional territorial recruitment and social support center, Olena Kuzina, in a live broadcast of the telethon on December 14, explained under what circumstances Ukrainians are sent to the front without training preparation.
General mobilization: Who goes to the front immediately
Those who served in the army less than 10 years ago are sent to service immediately. For example, a person who served compulsory military service or fought in the ATO/JFO but was discharged from the AFU. If they now want to return to the army on a contract, their experience allows them not to undergo training.
"If the break in service is more than 10 years, then the person goes to a training center and undergoes training again," noted the military representative.
General mobilization: Advantages of contracted service
She explained that contract soldiers, unlike those mobilized, have the opportunity to choose where to serve. Additionally, the conditions differ.
"A person can contact the recruitment department directly at the TRC, as well as the recruitment centers of the Ukrainian army and recruitment combat brigades. This includes a full social package—medical support, financial support, and payments for signing the first contract," said Kuzina.
Additionally, when a recruit arrives at the place of service, they are paid a settling-in allowance. If housing rental is required, it is compensated. Free education can be obtained at higher military educational institutions.
General mobilization: Who is chosen for the contract
New recruits undergo not only the military medical commission (MMC) but also selection—both psychological and sometimes physical fitness levels. The contract is signed not at the TRC but in the chosen brigade or training center.
The TRC spokeswoman noted that upon receiving a summons, a conscripted individual faces the choice of whether to serve on a contract or through mobilization.
"When you choose contract service—yes, you have more opportunities to choose what you want," she emphasized.
Both women and men sign the contract. New recruit candidates are considered, taking into account their health and physical fitness. This affects the place of service. Civilian experience is also considered.
